If you are using the 'Include Location with Regular Ping' option active in Device Settings, and your device is sending more locations than it would otherwise, this can cause increased battery drain.
If you have many false alarms and the device is constantly sending locations, this causes increased battery drain.
If you are using an M7 device, make sure you are using Lithium AA batteries and not Alkaline AA batteries, otherwise they will definitely rapidly drain much faster. Only Lithium AA batteries will last up to 2 years for M7 devices, Alkaline AA batteries tend to last only about 2 weeks maximum if not shorter.
If you have recently replaced the batteries on an M7 or recharged the battery on an M9 and your App is still displaying a low battery status, first try using App - Device Settings (Phone/Tracker in Bluetooth range) - Test Device Connection, to see if the new battery charge status updates itself.
