If you are riding your own vehicle and your tracker is false alarming and triggering the alarm while you have your Monimoto Key Fob with you.
If you are receiving false alarms and your vehicle is not moving at all, skip to the bottom of this section.
If no Key Fob is currently paired it will display that directly in the App "No Key Fobs", go to App - Device Settings - Manage Key Fobs - Add Key, and try to re-add the fob.
Check if the Key Fob battery is new. If you have a multimeter you can measure voltage of the Key Fob battery 3.3V is a new fob battery, and 2.7-2.8V is dead.
For circular all-black Key Fobs, sometimes the pins are not contacting properly with the battery in the Key Fob so you can open the Key Fob, find the gold pin connectors - bend them slightly so they are closer to the battery when the Key Fob is closed, then tightly close the Key Fob.
For rectangular Key Fobs, if you remove and replace the Key Fob battery a small white light should activate for a second, if it does not appear then please replace the battery with a new one. If no white light activates then either the battery is dead or something is wrong with the fob, then contact support.
If your Key Fob has a new battery and the white light comes on when replacing the battery into the fob enclosure, and you cannot re-add the keyfob in the App then contact support.
If your Key Fob is successfully paired and has a good battery and false alarms persist it could be a Bluetooth interference issue.
The Key Fob uses Bluetooth to connect to the tracker and prevent false alarms. False alarms can be caused by interference between tracker and Key Fob.
Go to App - Device Settings - Manage Key Fobs
'Searching' means Key Fob is not connected (if your Key Fob and tracker are in bluetooth range and remains 'searching' please contact support)
If it displays '-XXdBm' that means the Key Fob is connected
-95 to -100dBm means Very Bad signal strength, you will likely get disconnections and false alarms
-85 to -95dBm means Poor signal strength
-65 to -85dBm means Reliable signal strength
-30 to -65dBm means Very Good signal strength
Try changing the location of the Key Fob or tracker when riding to see if you can improve signal strength and reduce false alarms. For example a different jacket or pants pocket, keychain, alternative storage location for the Key Fob. Sometimes turning the Monimoto tracker's installation location can help
If you are receiving false alarms and your vehicle is not moving at all, make sure in device settings, motion sensitivity is set to either normal or low and see if that reduces the false alarms. It can happen that strong vibrations from passing vehicles on the street or even strong winds can sometimes trigger false alarms, especially on high sensitivity. Monimoto devices usually do not false alarm by themselves by accident, something is typically triggering the device, if false alarms are constant and have a repeated pattern then contact our support. If there are only rare false alarms with no obvious pattern while your vehicle is not moving then it would not be cause for concern.
