If you receive a push notification that looks like either of these:
This means that Monimoto regular ping update did not go as expected - our server did not receive a regular update from your device. It mainly happens due to cellular connectivity issues.
Main reasons:
- A temporary cellular network or internet connection error;
- At the moment of communication, Monimoto equipped vehicle was parked in the area without cellular network, e.g., underground garage;
- Monimoto batteries are almost empty;
- Monimoto Device's SIM card has no sim subscription time remaining.
What you can do if this happens:
- Check if motorcycle is where it is supposed to be.
- Try to use App - Device Settings (Phone/Tracker in Bluetooth range) - Test Device Connection, to push a regular update immediately.
- Test an alarm to check if it's able to alarm properly, even if the regular update was not received it doesn't necessarily mean your device is not able to alarm - so an alarm test is the best way to check it out.
- Wait until the next day. Usually next communication is successful. (regular ping interval must be set to 1 day in the settings section - it is a default setting).
- Check if cellular signal is strong enough where you keep your motorcycle. It might be worth moving your vehicle or Monimoto device to a different place for a day or two and see if "Missing Regular Update" notifications still arrive.
- Rarely, and depending on where you put the device, you might have to slightly change the device location in your bike or turn device by 90° degrees - "unblocking" cellular network waves. Remember that metal interferes with radio waves, so make sure the front side (with the 3 lines in a circle Monimoto logo
) is not touching any of metal parts on your bike.
If you always keep your bike at the same location, and only sometimes get this notification (but never more than 2 times in a row) - you should not worry since during an actual theft the device would most likely receive cellular signal again once it starts moving. However, if you see this notification for 3 days in a row - start checking our tips above or contact support via in-App message or email to support@monimoto.com.
